Olive Academies is a supportive and innovative place to work

Our culture

"Our staff are amazing. Employee wellbeing is central to our work. We want our staff to support each other, to share best practice and most importantly enjoy the work they do with the children and young people in our academies"

Mark Vickers MBE, CEO

Our pioneering network of alternative provision academies are nurturing, inclusive communities which combine creative and engaging learning opportunities with a culture of respect. We want to work with people who care about removing barriers to learning for children and young people.

Our aim is that staff who work in our trust are part of a community which is values driven and which has children at the centre of everything we do. We recognise that working in alternative provision schools can be extremely enjoyable and fulfilling, but it can also be challenging. Our academies are staffed by close and friendly teams who support each other on a day-to-day basis. Our leaders are experienced and understand what it's like - they are supportive, offer advice and also listen to feedback and ideas. The trust also makes sure that staff who need it have access to supervision and mentoring.

Staff who work for Olive Academies tell us that they value the opportunities to develop themselves through high quality CPD, be it trust or academy-wide training, online courses, support with accessing professional qualifications, or peer-to-peer learning.

Staff tell us they appreciate the small class sizes and the freedom to develop and implement creative ideas to help children and young people learn. They also appreciate access to employee benefits and enjoy the wellbeing activities such as family BBQs, days out and sporting activities.
