To celebrate the completion of our new academy building in Thurrock, a celebratory lunch and “open day” was hosted at Olive AP Academy – Thurrock in Tilbury last Friday 9th March.
It was an opportunity for our guests from local schools and the local authority to meet our academy staff, headteacher Jo Hill, Olive Academies’ chief executive Mark Vickers and our academy students.
Councillor James Halden, Thurrock Council’s Cabinet Member for Education and Health and Michele Lucas, Thurrock Council’s Assistant Director for Learning, Inclusion & Skills joined the lunch event and commented on “the amazing progress” made at the academy in the last 12 months. Councillor Halden also praised the academy’s inclusive ethos.
