Olive Academies puts partnership work at the heart of all its academies. It is only through developing partnerships and building strong relationships with other schools, academies and colleges in our local communities that we can achieve the best possible results for the young people we work with. This award was particularly valued by Ray Lawrence, headteacher and his staff at Olive AP academy – Havering as it was given to the whole academy team by their colleagues and partners in the local area.
The award is testament to the improvements made by the trust at Olive AP Academy – Havering over the last year – improvements which were also recognised in the Ofsted report published earlier this month.
“This is an improving school. Strong and determined leadership has led to significant improvement since the school was sponsored in September 2016. Leaders and governors have taken a strategic approach to school improvement, and successfully increased the capacity for further development. Since the school’s sponsorship by the trust, leaders have worked hard to raise the school’s profile among the community of schools in the area. They have engaged successfully with a range of organisations, including the local authority, to re-establish the school’s position in the educational community.” Ofsted report published June 2019
Trevor Cook, Assistant Director, Education, London Borough of Havering wrote to the trust, “I fully appreciate the hard work and commitment required to emerge from an Ofsted category. You can all be very proud of the work you are doing for the students of Olive AP Academy- Havering.”
