Huxley has considerable experience in education, with over 30 years as a teacher and school leader in both urban and coastal communities, many with high levels of deprivation. Until recently he was the CEO of a multi-academy trust comprising primary and secondary schools, working with a range of children and young people with complex needs. He understands the significant, positive impact schools have on their pupils and is passionate about improving the life chances for all. Huxley has a range of interests outside education including as a trustee of a national child bereavement charity and a magistrate in the Family Court.
