Ryan is an experienced and impactful leader with a strong track record of driving school improvement across the alternative provision, mainstream and specialist sectors. He has played a pivotal role in supporting the trust’s academies to secure 'Good' Ofsted ratings-reflecting not only his commitment to excellence, but also his belief that every young person, regardless of background or circumstance, deserves access to high-quality education and the support needed to fulfil their potential.
Under his leadership, Ryan has successfully embedded a curriculum that is both ambitious and tailored to the needs of learners, resulting in consistently high pupil outcomes that exceed national averages for alternative provision. Ryan has cultivated a positive culture and deep sense of belonging within the academies, leading to high levels of attendance and strong progression pathways for young people into education, employment, and training.
A passionate advocate for leadership excellence, Ryan has developed a team of exceptional leaders across the trust, strengthening the quality of provision and enriching the educational experiences of students. His strategic approach has also deepened external partnerships with local authorities, schools, and academies, improving the educational offer for vulnerable young people.
Ryan’s commitment to inclusive education is widely recognised. He has chaired the Cambridgeshire Inclusion Partnership (ESCIP) and served as Vice Chair of the Cambridgeshire Schools Forum, where he has championed efforts to keep permanent exclusions low and ensure robust specialist provision for those requiring additional support.
