About OA-Cambridge
Our students are placed with us for a period of intervention work to support reintegration back to mainstream education. We also provide permanent placements to support long term success where mainstream schooling is no longer successful and young people are at risk of permanent exclusion. Our dedicated staff work closely with families, schools and external agencies to create personalised plans that meet every learner’s individual needs and ambitions.
Students who attend our academy are dual registered with our academy being the ‘subsidiary’ school and the school from which the student has been referred being the ‘main’ school. The overall objective for each student is that they will be supported to return to their mainstream school when they are ready. Our aim at the academy is to transform the lives of children and young people for whom traditional teaching methods have not worked. We help our students develop the confidence, skills and knowledge to believe that they can be successful in their own lives. We provide a wide curriculum to engage pupils and promote wellbeing, making use of our on-site gym, woodwork room, new purpose-built kitchen and multi-use games area, ensuring that every learner has the opportunity to thrive both academically and personally.
