The facility will offer students the opportunity to gain skills in core areas of construction and carpentry at our Nene Valley academy.
Olive AP Academy – Nene Valley joins three other academies (Suffolk, Havering and Thurrock) in offering construction as part of the curriculum.
We are absolutely thrilled to have received this incredibly generous grant from the Wolfson Foundation.
We strive to provide a broad curriculum and being able to offer vocational qualifications in carpentry and construction will be hugely beneficial to our students.
Being supported by a prestigious organisation such as the Wolfson Foundation is a real privilege and provides welcome validation for the important work taking place at Olive Academies to improve outcomes for marginalised children and young people.
Helena Boast, Director of Academies, Olive Academies Trust
Olive AP Academy - Nene Valley impressed us with their commitment to supporting their students overcome obstacles to learning and acquire practical skills and qualifications which will help them progress into further education or employment. We believe this new construction skills facility will be a great asset to the academy and the local community.
Paul Ramsbottom, Chief Executive of the Wolfson Foundation
It is anticipated that work will start in the Spring, with the intention of the new facility being available to students during the academic year 2024/25.
We’d like to thank the Wolfson Foundation for the many opportunities this funding will provide for our students.
